ABOUT US

Hello, my name is Clayton Williams, and I am the owner of WILLIAMS GROUNDS located in the KC Metro area. We specialize in hard and soft landscaping and offer homegrown horticulture wholesale.

I grew up a native to Independence, Missouri. My family and I grew up on 2 ½ acres of land that my mother nursed her gardens and greenhouses from. My father was an Eagle Scout and a 2 tour Vietnam Veteran who was determined to teach me everything he knew. Together, they encouraged my aspirations in horticulture, and I believe I've carried this passion through my life. 

I attended college at MCC where I studied horticulture and graduated with my associates. I later obtained a position working for Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO and have been a Groundsman and Horticulture Supervisor for the last 18 years. During my time at Starlight Theatre, I was responsible for cultivating over 15,000 flowers seasonally, along with maintaining 18 acres of park land year-round. I’ve held many accolades in the position and was even made a member of the Rose Society last Spring of 2021. 

In addition to working for Starlight, I also provided family friends with landscaping projects every summer which eventually turned into a long client list all around the Metro Area.  Last summer was so lucrative, I decided opening Williams Grounds was more important than ever. To help this journey along, I’ve hired my son, Aidan Williams as Head of Labor and my mother, Jeanne Williams as Head of Greenhouse Production. We hope to provide clients with outstanding lawn and patio design along with the ability to purchase horticulture wholesale!
